Inner Garden Learning Small Groups
Small-group learning for children who love to wonder, explore, make, build and ask big questions
Inner Garden Learning (IGL) Small Groups bring 3-5 children together to learn alongside one another, with the same personalised, relationship-centred approach I bring to every learner. Each group is shaped around the children in it: their strengths, interests, learning needs environment, real world and shared goals.
It's a space where children can build real skills and real confidence, in a small group where they're known, encouraged and supported. Each group is planned with intention, so the children are learning together, not just beside each other.
Small Groups are designed for children aged 5-12.
Meet Amy
Hi, I'm Amy! I'm a qualified primary teacher with over 7 years of experience across classroom teaching, personalised learning support, inclusive education and homeschooling. I believe meaningful learning begins with genuine connection. When children feel seen, understood and supported, they ask more questions, embrace challenges and discover what they're capable of. What happens in a Small group?
Every group looks a little different, because it's built around the children in it! Depending on the group, we might focus on:
literacy: reading, writing, vocabulary and communication
shared interests, like animals and nature, building and making, or science and STEAM
confidence, curiosity and learning together
a shared learning focus that grows across the term
Learning is hands-on, discussion-rich and responsive. I plan each session thoughtfully, then watch and adjust to how the children are engaging, so everyone is supported at their own level within a shared experience!
Sessions can run for 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending. Over the term, ideas are revisited and built on, so skills and confidence grow with time.
Who is it for?
Small Groups tend to suit children who enjoy learning with others, who light up when they can talk, make, build or explore,
and who benefit from a calm, supportive group where they can be themselves.
How groups are formed
Groups are small on purpose. I consider each child's age, interests, learning needs and the way they connect with others.
Places are offered on fit and availability, and a group begins once there are enough suitable learners (a minimum of 3).
Join with friends: If you have 2-4 children in mind, each family completes an Expression of Interest and
tells me who they'd like to learn alongside.Register individually: No group yet? Submit an Expression of Interest and I'll match with other interested families.
Where and when
Groups meet in a participating family's home, with some outdoor and nature sessions where they suit the group.
Term 4: Monday 12 October to Friday 18 December
Day and time: to be confirmed with each group
Time zone: Sessions run on NSW time.
How you'll hear about learning
I ‘ll share thoughtful reflections: moments from the learning, what your child is curious about, strengths I'm noticing, and where we might head next.
Investment
Small Groups are a term commitment: your child has a place in the group for the term. Fees are per learner, and the same for every family in the group. Once a group is taking shape, I'll send you the full details, including fees and payment, along with a Learning Partnership Agreement.
What happens next
Expression of Interest: Tell me about your child and what you're hoping for.
Group planning: I consider alignment and begin shaping a group.
Details and agreement: I send you the fees, term details and agreement to sign.
60-minute trial: Every group begins with a trial session.
Place confirmed: If the trial is a supportive fit for everyone, your child's place for the term is confirmed.
